A could of weeks ago, we were driving from PEI to Pictou County. It started getting really messy outside and by the time we got to Oxford, we couldn't see anything. It was scary. We called a number that was on the motels answering machine and the owner drove down from his house and helped 3 couples get rooms for the night. We thought we'd be sleeping in our cars. Amazing price, rooms were clean and service was excellent. Thank you!
I stayed here in early Jan 2016 because the driving was terrible (snowing heavy), and I really didn't want to drive over Cobequid to Halifax. I think it was the owner who came over to check me in. Most friendly and accommodating, and the room was great! Very clean and comfortable.
Great family lunch spot! Kids Turkey Dinner was great, and only 9.50. Mashed Potatoes are real potatoes not instant. I had the Corn Chowder and it was stuffed with corn, potatoes and bacon. Great portions, Great prices! Don't let the outside discourage you, it's clean and bright inside.

HOMEMADE EVERYTHING! TOP QUALITY FOOD. Best homemade turkey gravy.... EVER! (No restaurants make that anymore) Serve HOMEMADE dinner rolls with your meal. Vegetables are actually very fresh with a beautiful flavour. Do not taste like previously frozen. I love to make special trips here when heading anywhere near or past Oxford NS. The staff are so friendly and caring about what they do & how they treat their guests. I was there tonight and served by Valerie :) My Grandchildren and we were provided exceptional service upon entering the restaurant and throughout the whole experience! WELL WORTH the trip from HRM to enjoy the fabulous home cooked meals!
Can't visit the maritimes without stopping in my favourite town of Oxford, Nova Scotia. I have fond memories of getting takeout from "The (former) Big B" when visiting my grandparents and great aunt in the 70s and 80s. The Parkview Family Restaurant takes me back to the old days with its delicious menu and small-town friendly service. On this visit I enjoyed a cheeseburger in a lettuce wrap and fries with tasty gluten-friendly gravy. My companions' turkey (made with real turkey pieces!), western, and grilled cheese sandwiches looked really good as well. Our server on the Tuesday that we were there last week was excellent! Can't wait to make another visit back to eat the next time we are in town. Love you Oxford!
